We’ve taken the next step and become a Certified B Corp. This blog will explore what this certification means and how it continues our commitment to the planet.

What We’ve Been Doing

While we’re announcing that we’re a Certified B Corp, that’s just the latest step in our commitment to a better world.

Over the years, we’ve created policies that aligned with our commitments and passions:

• Carbon Neutral Operations – Trouvaille is carbon neutral certified. The world runs on energy, but our energy doesn’t need to make things worse. That’s why we decided years ago to become a carbon neutral company.
• Volunteering – Our staff is paid to count in our community. From cleaning near our homes to taking care of others in our city, we believe that human power is the very best way to make everything better. 
• 1% for the Planet – We donate one percent of our annual sales to our environmental partners. Onepercentfortheplanet.org is one of the best organizations in the world to help companies create change. 

Certified B Corp 

The next logical step for Trouvaille Consultants was to become a certified B Corporation.

A B Corp, or Benefit Corporation, is a type of certification for businesses that meet high standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. 

This certification is issued by the nonprofit B Lab, based on a rigorous assessment of a company’s impact on its workers, customers, community, and environment. 

To become a B Corp, a company must undergo a B Impact Assessment, which evaluates its practices and policies in detail and requires a minimum score to qualify. 

Companies must also integrate their commitment to social and environmental performance into their corporate governance structure.

For a company, becoming a B Corp can reinforce its dedication to not only profitability but also to ethical practices and sustainable development. 

This certification often helps businesses differentiate themselves in a competitive market by highlighting their commitment to greater corporate responsibility and aligning with customers who value ethical and responsible business practices.

Why Trouvaille Consultants Became a B Corp

Beyond our commitment to the environment, Trouvaille is also committed to our community socially and beyond.

As a B Corp, we are able to show an independent assessment of our commitments. B Lab has been working with our team for months, reviewing everything from our carbon impact to our social policies to our volunteer efforts.

While being a B Corp allows us to differentiate ourselves in marketing and advertising, we chose to do this because we feel it’s important to demonstrate who we are and why this is a huge step for any company.
